Shirin Alamhooie, Farzad Kamangar, Farhad Vakili, Ali Heydarian and Mehdi Islamian were hanged at dawn on May 9th. Even though it has been 6 days since the execution, their bodies have not been delivered to their families and it is feared that government bury the bodies secretly in fear of people’s protest. Nationwide protests and reaction continues in Iran and around the world. Families have gathered in front of Evin prison to get the bodies of their loved ones for few days now without any results. They even have been threatened of being arrested. Family’s fearless spirit is undeniable. They are like their loved ones! They did not surrender to the savagery regime and stood strong and angry.
Ward 350 of Evin prison which is a captivity place of political prisoners has been shut down after prisoners went on hunger strike. They were transferred to other wards of this prison. Their strength and resistance is praising!
It is not permissible to remain in silence against all these crimes and savagery. We, by supporting all the calls to protest and by standing with the people of Kurdistan and their general strike on May 13th, call to protest against this unforgivable crime and ask country’s students, teachers and professors to not attend classes on Tuesday May 18th. Presence of students in this general strike is imperative and influential. Students were Farzad Kmangar’s main concern; even in prison he never stopped writing to his students. Therefore, to remember our dear teacher Farzad, you should join the strike against this regime. This strike is a good opportunity to unit in solidarity regardless of any political view differences. Let’s cancel classes all together on Tuesday May 18th.
