Mousavi Facebook – Prison guards at Evin prison severely beat Mohammad Nourizad, imprisoned journalist and filmmaker, who has been detained for writing letters to the supreme leader and the head of the judiciary, criticizing their performance in brutally confronting peaceful protestors to the rigged election. According to the report,… Tuesday guards took Mohammad Nourizad out of his cell and then 5 security personnel attacked him and viciously beat him with the aim to kill. Based on the diagnosis of the prison’s doctor, Nourizad has suffered a concussion as a result of severe beating to his head causing vision problems for him. After this immoral and illegal act of the government’s agents at Evin prison, Nourizad has started a complete hunger strike and has declined to eat or drink anything. He has informed his family that if the situation remains like this he will not live. Also, after this attack Nourizad has been transferred from his cell with another prisoner in section 240 to solitary confinement in a dungeon with no light, air circulation or water closet. Mohammad Nourizad was arrested after writing three criticizing letters to the supreme leader and the head of judiciary and publishing them on his weblog. After that, Mohammad Nourizad was arrested for what the court considered insulting the supreme leader and the head of judiciary. Mohammad Nourizad wrote a forth letter to the supreme leader from the prison and reiterated his criticisms. The so-called “court” has already sentenced Nourizad to 3 1/2 years of prison and 50 lashes.
