The Only Way Forward

Retired workers gather in protest in front of Majlis

On Sunday, July 18, 2010 starting around 7 am, retired workers gathered in protest in Aborayhan St. and then marched towards Baharestan (where regime’s Majlis is located) to protest against the non-payment of their pension.

The crowd chanted ‘Allah O Akbar’ while gathering.

At 10 am about 2000 of them were gathering in front of  the parliament (Majlis) and by chanting ‘Allah O Akbar’ showed their protest against the violation of their rights and not receiving their pension.

Other retired workers joined them from townships, especially townships around Tehran, since morning.  Around 12:30 pm the number of the retired workers reached 3000.

Security forces surrounded the premises and threatened them to disperse, but they still chanted Allah O Akbar and continued their protest gathering.
