Scroll down for english

On Friday August 27, after the Friday prayer, a small group of plain clothes thugs, most of them in their 20’s, gathered in front of the Ayatollah Dastgheyb’s mosque and showed disrespect toward this Green movement supporting Marja and member of the Assembly of Experts, and chanted slogans such as “Death to the American mullah”, “Death to the disturber”, “Death to the anti supreme leader”, “Conspirator be shameful and leave our city”.

According to the reports, a group of special unit forces has also blocked the streets leading to the mosque to assist these thugs in their disgraceful act and prevent people from getting to the mosque.

Few days ago also an organized group of goons disrespected his Excellency by throwing paint at the residence of this spiritual leader.

Following the coup election, Grand Ayatollah Dastgheyb has been attacked by organized groups because of his position and remarks in support of the Green movement of the people and in opposition to the government’s actions. Recently also a group of plain clothes militia by attacking the mosque revented the Grand Ayatollah from delivering his ceremony and holding up the prayer. These actions have heightened after Ayatollah Dastgheyb in one of his speeches in the holy month of Ramadan spoke of the required characteristics of supreme leader as is described in the constitution and added that the supreme leader should act according to the constitution instead of controlling it.

Ayatollah Dastgheyb had also said: “That person who constantly is self-centered and considers himself to have right over all aspects of people’s lives and says that all people should obey me, such a person is the symbol of the tree of wickedness.”

Grand Ayatollah Dastgheyb in response to the reaction of the supporters of the government had said: “In the advices that I gave, I intended not to insult anyone and didn’t name anyone, and if people with their understanding can match my remarks with some specific person, then it is not on me and I have done my duty.”

He had also added: “My intentions for stating the interpretations of Quran is to tell the people what I understand from Quran and the teachings of the Prophet and if in the society an illegitimate action happen, I warn and I have nothing other than good intentions and offering advice and these warnings are not only for the Islamic Republic but I also during the time of Shah, based on my duty, was inviting to good and warn from bad.”

خاتمی:نمی توان گفت نظامی منتسب به خدااست،وقتی ظلم وجود دارد/Khatami: The State cannot claim to be attributed to God when there is oppression in it

پارسى

Seyyed Mohammad Khatami, former president, said: “It cannot be claimed that an establishment is attributed to God and the Prophet when there is oppression in it. Of course, in the social world of the human, the law and just order must be in control; the most important symbols of justice in social life is recognition of the human’s right to govern his fate and be respected.”

He continued: “In the heart of this same issue freedom also lies. But it must be specifically said that the desirable social order in the view of God, the Prophet and social activists is one in which there is freedom and justice.”

In continuation of his remarks, Khatami added: “It is appropriate to point out the relation between justice and freedom. What has been said about the contradiction between justice and freedom in the recent history shows that neither freedom nor justice has been recognized correctly; because justice and freedom, although in their meaning are different but in practice and reality, it is not possible to separate one from the other and rather these two are coincident and together.”

Seyyed Mohammad Khatami added: “Justice is the right of free human and claiming to have justice while people are in chain, captive and insulted is a big lie, just like claiming to have justice while there are people who are hungry and dispossessed is an obvious lie.”

Seyyed Mohammad Khatami at the end of his remarks while explaining one of the definitions of a government based on Islamic Republic’s constitution added: “One of the definitions [of the government] is that the government is the one that has the sole right to bear arms; and it is obvious that whenever there is a right there is a responsibility as well; and the more significant the rights is, the more significant the responsibly will be. An ordinary individual has responsibilities toward the law, but a minster or a member of the parliament has more responsibilities and obligations.”

By raising this question, that whether a government can use arms anyway it wants or to achieve some especial goals, he emphasized: “Obviously in order to protect the sovereignty, public safety and national interests, if necessary, arms should be used but of the most important responsibilities arising from this right is the exclusive right to defend the freedom and security of the citizens, in other word, a just government cannot use this right and ability against the citizens to suppress [them] and force its demands. But rather it should use it for protecting the freedom and security of the citizens, and this is a criterion to recognize a just government.”

دعوت تاجزاده از کودتاگران برای مناظره: همه جمع شوید و با اسناد یک ساله تان به اوین بیایید /Mostafa Tajzadeh invites the perpetrators of the coup d’ état to a debate at the state-run television and radio or at Evin prison

پارسى

Seyyed Mostafa Tajzadeh, imprisoned senior member of Participation Front and Mojahedin of Islamic Revolution Organization (reformist) and the deputy minister of Interior during Mohammad Khatami’s administration, invited the team of the coup d’état for a debate at the state-run television and radio or at Evin prison.

Mostafa Tajzadeh’s wife, Fakhrosadat Mohtashamipour, reported that she was able to meet with her husband for the first time since he was called back to Evin prison two weeks ago and in her conversation with her husband, Seyyed Mostafa Tajzadeh invited the representatives of the autocrats to reveal all the documents they claim to have collected against him over the past year and have a debate with him either on air on the state-run television studio or even at the Evin prison.  He has also asked that the seven-page text, which he had written regarding the electoral fraud during the interrogations be released to the public.

Tajzadeh also stressed that all the propaganda of the government is not only to distract the public’s mind from the extensive fraud in the tenth presidential elections, but also is to lay foundations to prevent any free and fair elections in the future because the hardliners very well know that with any free elections they will lose power.

Seyyed Mostafa Tajzadeh, is one of the seven senior reformists figure who made a formal complaints to the judiciary against some of the high ranking Revolutionary Guards officials because of their illegal intervention in the last year’s presidential election based on a released speech made by one of the senior commanders of the IRGC in which he explained the methods they used to sabotage the reformist candidates’ campaign and meddling in the election process to bring Ahmadinejad back to power.

Tajzadeh along with some other reformist figures who were among the signatories of this formal complaint were called back to prison following the release of this formal complaint.

Security forces prevent annual ceremony for executed political prisoners in Iran

August 27, 2010 –  Islamic Republic security forces prevented families of political prisoners from observing the 22nd anniversary of the mass execution of political prisoners in Iranian prisons.

The families, who gathered every summer at the Khavaran Cemetery in commemoration of their kin, faced resistance from security forces this year and a number of them were arrested.

Human Rights and Democracy Activists of Iran report that security forces had set up road blocks and stopped the families from visiting the resting places of their kin.

According to this report a number of people were also beaten by the security forces and despite the restrictions, some of the families managed to reach the graves of their loved ones.

In the summer of 1988, the Islamic Republic executed scores of political prisoners serving prison terms in jails for the charge of membership in dissident groups and buried them in mass graves at the Khavaran Cemetery.

While Amnesty International puts the number of executions at over 2500, Ayatollah Montazeri, the late dissident cleric mentions “2800 or perhaps 3800” indicating that he does not remember the exact number.

However, many opponents of the Islamic Republic claim that the number far exceeds these quotes.

After three years of silence, in 1991, the families along with other social activists began gathering at Khavaran Cemetery to remember their kin , an event which they have observed every summer since then.

موسوی:تنها راه بازگشت امنیت، پذیرش خواست مردم و جنبش متعلق به آنهاست / Mousavi: the only way to return safety and security to the society is through honoring the people’s will and their movement

پارسى

Mir Hossein Mousavi in a meeting with a group of veterans of Iran-Iraq called today’s situation of the society “unsafe” and stressed that the only way to return safety and security to the society is through honoring people’s will and their movement. Mousavi in this meeting talked about the reasons behind this lack of safety in the society. Mousavi stated that fear of repression, fear of unemployment and fear of organized corruption, which have become dominant in the society today, are some of the signs of extensive oppression and injustice that exists in the country today.

A guiding faith; a kind of faith that is not covered behind oppression and injustice

Mousavi in a meeting with a group of veterans of Iran-Iraq war on the day marking the birth of Imam Hassan (Shias’ second Imam), while congratulating the anniversary of the birthday of Imam Hassan (peace be upon him), who has been the symbol of perseverance and patience, said: “In the holy Quran we read “Those who believe and do not taint their beliefs with oppression, are safe and they are the guided ones”. This verse shows that having faith alone neither brings security nor is the salvage from bewilderment and wandering; but faith provides security and guidance and rescues from bewilderment when is not covered beneath oppression and injustice.”

The cities of Dezful and Ilam during war; evidence of people’s faith

The prime minister of the holy era of defence during Iran-Iraq war addressed to these veterans said: “ You yourselves were witness that during the holy defence ear, the city of Dezful had been hit by missiles that had one-ton warheads but the people did not evacuate the city and [even] the Friday Prayers were not cancelled. The situation was the same in the city of Ilam as well. This city was under bombardments everyday and I remember that whenever the representatives of the administration were travelling to this city, it was the people who were comforting them; and the situation was the same all across the country. Neither war nor shortages or [low] six million dollars oil revenue did not take the sense of security away from the people.”

A Quranic response to a fundamental question; why there is no sense of safety in the country

Mir Hossein Mousavi said: “The important question is that why today when from morning to night, the sounds of prayer, worship and religious eulogy are loud from everywhere and religious and spiritual advertisements are being shown on all TV channels full-time, the sense of safety does not exist in the society? The reason is very clear: The faith does exist but it has been covered beneath oppression and injustice.”

Clear signs of oppression in today’s society

Mousavi regarding the same topic said: “Fear of repression, fear of forced confession, fear of unemployment and inflation, fear of foreign attacks, fear of eavesdropping and interference in personal affairs, fear of bounced cheques, fear of organized corruptions, fear of judges who take orders from interrogators and cover their faith with dark and sinister clothes of oppression, all are the signs of wide spread existence of oppression and lack of injustice. In these circumstances faith cannot create security or be the guide for the people to a bright future and afterlife. I don’t think that there are many reasons needed to prove this issue.  When the Minister of Intelligence follows the Friday Prayer Imam and the Chairman of the Guardian Council and spreads lies[1] how one can seek safety in such a society?”

The Minister of Intelligence whose responsibility is to create the sense of calm, but…

The pretense resembling to the prophet neither brings no saintety or peace of mind

Mir Hossein Mousavi in continuation of his remarks by asking this question that “Under these circumstances, don’t people have the right to feel fear and apprehension from this Interior Ministry which providing peace of mind is one of its responsibilities?”,  said: “What is more surprising is that these guys and their allies are wearing the clothing of the Prophet .[2]  This issue is an evidence to this fact that the pretense resembling to the prophet neither brings no saintety or peace of mind, although these officials are apparently in full safety behind their powers.”

Security can be achieved only through freedom from fear and liberty from need

Covering up major corruptions has become a norm

Mousavi added: “Feeling secure does not summarize in the mere security of the government and its agents. The discussion is over the people’s security and the people’s security is achieved by being free from fear and becoming liberated from the need. Those who riding in safe government’s armored vehicles and close their eyes and talk of selling bread to the international prices are not feeling the people’s pain and fear. They do not understand how the fear of having the furniture and belonging of the family thrown out because of their inability to pay the rent shears the soul and body of the low income families. Especially, in an environment that covering up the big corruptions and aversions of the law have become the norm.”

They cannot understand the people

Mousavi in this meeting pointed to the dangers of sanctions that threats the country and said: “Those who can fill their pockets with more money because of these sanctions cannot comprehend people’s concerns over the outcome of these sanctions and their dangers; add to all these the fear of your votes being stolen and the fear of you trusting in the government and the government betrayals your trust.”

A way to portray a bright prospect and security for the people

Mousavi in continuation said: “The security will not return to the society with the notorious black and horrifying clothes that is worn on Basij. In order to create bright prospect and security in the society, the curtains of oppression and injustice must be torn, and this will not be possible unless with people’s united will and their movement. Freedom and justice and following those security and liberty from fear are not handed to a nation as a gift, but rather a conscious nation achieves them through the power of patience and perseverance and the costs that people are paying today are for achieving such a goal.”

A sign of the lack of tolerance by a section of the government

Mousavi emphasized: “The lack of tolerance and rigidness of the establishment reached a point that they sensor the popular prayer of people’s beloved artist at Iftar time[3] or they issue directive to the media banning them from reflecting any news related to the Green Movement.”

Daunting situation that is the outcome of domestic thoughtless remarks and malice of Zionist regime

Mousavi in another part of his remarks said: “The reckless policies of past years, thoughtless remarks and boasts have put the country in a daunting situation. Today those wish harm to our nation are beating on the drum of war and attack and it is clear that the Zionist regime plays a significant role in advancing this ominous concern.”

Mousavi by pointing to the issue that the Zionist regime needs to stimulate public minds against our nation in the world in order to fulfill their ominous agenda said: “Unfortunately domestic [reckless] rhetoric in which the whole planet of Earth is being threatened [4] provides the needed excuse for the necessary propaganda [against our nation] in this matter.”

We clearly and frankly defend the national interests

The reaction of the Green Movement to any foreign threats will be along with maintaining the limits and boundaries with the autocrats

Mir Hossein Mousavi at the end of his remarks said: “What matters to the Green movement is to react to any foreign threats along with maintaining the limits and boundaries with the autocrats. We will all clearly and frankly defend the national interests. We sincerely and compassionately advise [the government] that in order to achieve a reasonable foreign policy and reduce the dangers for the country, before it is too late, use the credible, wise and experienced [human] resources.”

[1] Referring to the shameful remarks of Ahmad Janatti, Tehran’s Friday Prayer Imam and Chairman of the Guardian Council, and the Minister of Intelligence who falsely accused the Green leaders of receiving more than one billion dollar from the US government via Saudis to create what was called “tension” in the country following the tenth presidential elections and were supposed to receive fifty billion dollars more if they could over throw the establishment.

[2] Referring to the clothing of clerics who dress in the same style that prophet Mohammad (peace be up on him) used to dress, in a long robe and turban.

[3] Referring to the popular prayer of legendary singer, Mohammad Reza Shajarian, who after siding with the Green Movement of the people and protesting to the biased policies of the state-run TV and radio channels his payer which had been aired moments before the Iftar time (when Muslims break their fast at sunset during the holy month of Ramadan) for many years was banned this year.

[4] Referring to the recent thoughtless remarks and hollow threats of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that if the foreign countries even attack Iran then the whole planet Earth would not be safe!

هتک حرمت بیت آیت الله دستغیب + گزارش تصویری /Basij vandalize the residence of Ayatollah Dastgheib

پارسى

Following Ayatollah Dastgheib’s speech at Ghoba Mosque in the city of Shiraz criticizing the ruling powers for oppressing the people, and the extensive coverage of this speech in the media, today (Wednesday) around 2:30 AM local time, a group of bikers hiding their faces in helmets threw paint on the door of his Excellency’s residence and immediately fled the scene.

The footage of the security cameras reveals that these were the same group who also threw paint on his Excellency’s office sign.  Ayatollah Dastgheib is a member of the Assembly of Experts and one of the most respected Marajeh (the highest ranking religious leader who are qualified to interpret Islamic rules and issue Fatwa’s) and one of the well-known supporters of the Green Movement of the Iranian people.

Recentl, following the Ayatollah’s sermon condemning the actions of the government, a group of plain clothed militia gathered in front of the governor’s office and protested to Dastgheib’s speech.  Despite the fact that they had no permission to hold this gathering, unlike the protest of millions of ordinary citizens who opposed the coup election and were brutally beaten and killed by the government and Basij, this protest ended with the speech of the governor in support of the plain clothed militia and the condemnation of his Excellency’s criticisms; ironically the governor suggested to the great Marjah to ask for God’s and people’s forgiveness for his the comments he made against the actions of the ruling powers!

جبهه مشارکت: صدای خرد شدن استخوان ظلم از درون اوین طنین انداز شده است /Iranian reformist organization concerned for health of political prisoners and warns violent policies will lead to the “fall of the Islamic Republic”

پارسى

Iranian reformist organization, Islamic Iran Participation Front issued a statement expressing concern over the health of Mostafa Tajzadeh and Mohammad Nourizad who were recently recalled back to Evin Prison.  Jaras website reports that the Participation Front describes the information blackout against these detainees as the “apex of lawlessness of the cruel-hearted jailors.”

The reformist organization condemns the violence exercised against political detainees and maintains that such policies will lead to the “fall of the Islamic Republic.”  The senior executive member of Islamic Iran Participation Front, Mostafa Tajzadeh had to return to prison after five months of temporary release on bail.  He was arrested last year in the violent crackdown on the protests against the alleged fraud that brought Mahmoud Ahmadinejad back to power and was kept imprisoned for over nine months before he was released on bail in March.

Tajzadeh, along with six of his fellow reformists, recently issued a letter of complaint for the judiciary accusing the Revolutionary Guards of engineering the results of the presidential elections and organizing the oppression of protests against the said fraud.  The letter resulted in the recall of two of the signatories of the letter back to prison.

Mohammad Nourizad, Iranian journalist and filmmaker, was also detained in the post-election protests for writing critical letters about Iran’s political situation addressed to the supreme leader.  He was released on bail in July only to publish his final letter to the leader on August 25 and be recalled to jail three days later.  In a final note before returning to prison, Nourizad writes that he is afraid that this time he will be executed for trumped up charges.
