Zahra Rahnavard and families of political prisoners celebrate birthday with young daughter of martyred protestor Shabnam Sohrabi

Zahra Rahnavard, along with a group of families of political prisoners celebrated the birthday of Negin – the young daughter of Green Martyr, Shabnam Sohrabi – and comforted her in the absence of her mother.  This was the second birthday that Negin celebrated without her beloved mother.

In this warm gathering, Zahra Rahnavard and families of political prisoners assured Negin and her grandmother – who has been taking care of Negin since her mother was martyred- that the memory of Shabnam Sohrabi and other Green martyrs will live in the hearts of the people forever.

Ms. Shabnam Sohrabi was repeatedly run over by a police car during the peaceful protests on  Ashura (December 27, 2009).

Below is a video of the tragic death of Negin’s mother Shabnam.  She is run over at least two times by the police on December 27, 2009 (Ashura).  It reveals the depth of depravity and the brutal nature of the Islamic regime in its suppression of our people.

Later, a video surfaced of fellow protestors loading the body of Shabnam into a car to transport her to a hospital.
