The head of Iran’s judiciary calls for investigations to be carried out at maximum speed

In an address to prosecutors and heads of courts nationwide, Sadegh Larijani called for speeding up investigations, and by extension, executions. 

Larijani said, “I ask all judiciary officials in provinces to investigate these cases at maximum speed because when they are investigated on a long term it decreases the preventing aspect of the punishments.” 

 He asked that they not to do anything that would cost the establishment.  He advised: “in special cases and important crimes that have national and regional aspects, the judges and judiciary directors must be careful about the public effect of their decrees…so that these records would not damage the judiciary.”
