Official from Iranian Regime says 109 detained on 13 Aban

TEHRAN, Iran — Iranian police have detained 109 people for “disturbing public order” during an opposition rally this week, the official IRNA news agency reported Saturday.

Azizollah Rajabzadeh, a security spokesman, said 62 of those detained have been handed over to judicial authorities for trial and the rest have been released after questioning.

“Police detained 109 people who disturbed public order on the sidelines of the rally,” he said. “62 of those arrested were handed over to judicial authorities and the rest were set free. Of 62 detained, 43 are men and 19 women.”

We can reasonably assume based on the regime’s past official statements, that the number of detained protestors is probably at least twice that number. In addition, the number of injured is in the hundreds, many of whom received gashes on their heads from baton strikes to the skull from the animals the regime calls Basij, which in many cases required stitches. More than any of the previous protests, our brave women appeared to be the favorite target of the Basij.

Protesters Turned Iran Green on 13 Aban

The thirtieth anniversary of November 4 in Tehran and other cities across Iran was witness to massive popular rallies against the coup government. Despite the heavy presence of the military and the police, hundreds of thousands of green movement supporters poured onto the streets in Tehran, Shiraz, Isfahan, Rasht, Mashad and many other cities, chanting “death to dictator” and calling for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s removal and the restoration of democracy to the nation.

Tehran Nights video, chants of Allah akbar (God is great) on November 5, 2009

Chants of Allah Akbar (God is great) on the night of Nov. 5 can be heard all over Tehran, Iran. One day after major anti-government protests erupted throughout Iran on 13 Aban, the 30th anniversary of the seizure of the American Embassy and the taking of hostages. Masses of suppression forces were stationed along the protest routes and at major squares throughout Iran. They beat men, women, children and the elderly indiscriminately, they arrested hundreds, and shot many, some of whom have died.

Group of protesters hiding from official forces attack + people get arrested

This video is taken in Felestin street near Keshavarz blvd. A group of protesters are hiding in a construction site, while security forces are looking for them. The forces are also arresting two young people and beating them.
After the video was taken, half the people in that construction site were arrested by security forces.
