Open Letter To The Opposition Leaders

Dear Sirs,

Mr. Khatami, Mr. Mousavi and Mr. Karroubi,

You all claim that you are defending the aspirations of our people, whom are desiring the rule of law, freedom and religious democracy.  What if you are wrong about religious democracy?  What in fact, if they, we, are desiring Democracy, absent from religious dictate?  Will you still support and adhere to the will of the people?  In the coming weeks and months, I suspect you will hear the deafening cries and feel the mighty fists demanding as such.   I hope you are listening.

In some of your demands, you ask for adherence to the values of the Islamic Revolution through guarantees such as freedom of the press and legal rights.  Can you please tell me when have we ever had freedom of press and legal rights?  At anytime over the last 31 years, could I have ever published a criticism of your Rahbar (as I have never acknowledged him as mine)?  Could I have ever written why it is wrong to chant Marg bar America, Israel or anyone else?  What about writing that the forced Hijab is unislamic?  And what legal rights do you speak of?  Do you mean the one’s laid out in the Constitution that say they have to conform with Islamic criteria?  Who’s interpretation of Islamic criteria, Khomeini’s, Khamenei’s, Montazeri’s, Yazdi’s or yours.

You also ask for acceptance of the Rahbar.  May I ask you, was Ali Khamenei ever qualified or learned enough to ascend to such a position?  Is he now?  Is it not true that he was elected (selected) by the Khobregan, whom are supposed to be some of the most learned of Islamic scholars (Mujtahids).  By the way, all of whom were in position for years while Khomeini was alive.  He certainly believed them learned enough.  There is no need to list all of the grievances with your Rahbar, save but one, that he ordered the crackdown on the Friday following the election (selection),  of which continues to this day.   How can you so sincerely ask our people to accept him, the one who unleashed the minions of rape, torture and murder on the innocents.  He, whom beckoned the thunder that has broken the bodies, and summoned the rain that soaks our children in blood.  And since it was the Mujtahids whom selected him in the first place, how I ask you, do you expect our noble people to ever accept the judgement of the Mujtahids again?

And your beloved Imam (Khomeini), who took advantage of our religious sensibilities and usurped the true demands of the Revolution, and imposed upon us, an unjust, shameless and dictatorial system.   For all these years, the whispers of the repressed, silent screams of the tortured, wilted bodies of the raped, and the blood-soaked Kafan of the murdered, has in your silence made you complicit.  Can you reconcile this for me, for us?

Can you honestly tell us that you could clean up a system that is rotten from bottom to top?  You can transform the Basij into a beloved flower carrying outfit and the IRGC so that it is answerable to the President and Majlis!?  You can eliminate the Guardian Council’s supervision over elections and replace the members with Reformers!?  You can remove your Rahbar and replace him with someone or some group that you can guarantee will not go astray?  You have more insight than your Imam (Khomeini) or the Khobregan?  You can remove every bad element from the establishment, and everyone who has held silent in the face of 31 years of travesties and injustice.  With all due respect, that would leave your halls empty.

Again, how could you ask the children to come and join you in the house that Khomeini built?  A house of immeasureable pain, where behind the closed doors we find the ragged and beaten, the tortured and raped, and the corpses of the innocent crammed in the closets.  For this house has not become filthy and unkept since June, nor even four years prior, it has had the stench of death and decay for three decades.

I am but a sapling, please shower me with light and shade me in the wisdom of the mighty oaks.

Mohsen Sazegara’s website hacked by Iranian Cyber Army

Mohsen Sazegara, is an Iranian journalist and pro-democracy political activist. Dr. Sazegara held several high ranking positions during the early years of the Iranian Revolution, such as deputy prime minister in political affairs, deputy minister for heavy industry, deputy chairman of the budget and planning department, one of the founders of the Revolutionary Guard, and many more before becoming disillusioned with the government in 1989 and pushing for reforms. He applied to become a candidate for President of Iran in the 2001 election and was refused.

His reformist policies clashed with the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, eventually resulting in his arrest in early-2003. Following his release in August 2003, he moved to the United Kingdom for medical attention. He currently resides in the United States.

Since the election (selection) in June 2009 of Ahmadinejad, Mr. Sazegara has posted daily youtube videos in support of the green movement in Iran.  Many Iranians inside and out of Iran view his messages, as he can give alittle insight into the mind and machinery of the regime and the revolutionary guard.  Here is his website that was hacked by the regime:  Sazegara.net

Note:  As soon as he sets up new site, we will post it here.  For now, his videos can be seen Here

Mousavi “The green movement is a friend even to those who don’t agree with us”

February 8, 2010

Mir Hossein Mousavi in a meeting with a group of students and youth said, “ Disgracing and insulting people and the freedom of thought has nothing to do with Islam, I believe that the nation knows what is best for it and the collective wisdom is the superior wisdom and that is why the Islamic Revolution happened.”   ”If we want to save Islam as an asset for the nation, our own interests should not endanger the interests of Islam.”

He went on to say,  the only demand of the force that has come to the scene today is to return to the main laws and values of the Islamic Revolution, but is being falsely accused.  The Green Movement of the nation of Iran is independent, rational and peaceful.  We are not opposed to Basij, the Revolutionary Guards or the police; but rather we are opposed to violence, beating and killing.  The Green Movement of Iran is independent and does not let any foreign interference in its affairs.  The events that happened after the election might help us to find a new and fresh interpretation from the constitution again, an interpretation that can solve countries problem.  Unfortunately it is for the benefit of some to polarise the society.  The Green movement is friend with anyone even those who don’t agree with our views because they are part of our nation.  Investigating and meddling in people’s private affairs and reading people’s emails and text messages are against the principles of our religion and constitution.  Lets give people the chance to listen to all sides and choose the best.

اختصاصی جرس / دیدار مهم امروز هاشمی رفسنجانی با رهبر جمهوری اسلامیRafsanjani to Khamenei: “Stop these shameful and embarrassing acts”

rahesabz (Farsi)

Jaras – In a meeting with the leader of the Islamic Republic, Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani severely criticized the recent attempts by government agents to arrest the wife of Ali Reza Beheshti, a senior advisor to Mousavi. He gave an ultimatum to Ayatolla Khamenei and stated that the actions are “shameful and embarrassing.”

According to a Jaras reporter, among the issues brought up in the long meeting, Hashemi Rafsanjani warned the leader of the manner in which the country is being run, the turmoil after the elections, and the issues related to political prisoners and the press.

After the unsuccessful attempt by government agents to arrest Ali Reza Beheshti’s (senior advisor to Mousavi) wife, she contacted Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, the head of the Assembly of Experts, from her hiding place. She stated, “We have come to a point where the grandchildren of the first chairman of the Judiciary, the late Ayatolla Beheshti, in the wake of the 22nd of Bahman, have to be displaced and live underground because of fears of being arrested by government agents.”

Hashemi who was severely affected and shaken by this conversation visited the leader today and requested for the immediate release of Ali Reza Beheshti. It looks as though Ali Reza Beheshti may be released soon since Ayatollah Mousavi Ardebili also visited with the leader a few days earlier with a similar request.

At this time, Seyed Mohammad Reza Beheshti, Ali Reza Beheshti’s older brother has outside Evin prison for hours waiting for his brother to be released.

The banner which says “Death to Khamenei” was hung on Komeil Bridge on Navab St.  in Tehran, Iran on February 3, 2010.  Apparently, the opposition is gearing up for the protests on 22 Bahman (Feb. 12) and showing that they are fearless, as this act of defiance could easily get you the death penalty.

Also, on February 2, 2010, on the same street, but on another bridge the opposition set fire to the picture of Khamenei on a large banner.

Ansar-e-Hezbollah and Basij Attack Students in Tehran

There was a clash on February 6th in Tehran between the University of Science and Technology students and supporters of the regime. Students initiated a general strike around 2:00pm. The chant, “Down with the Islamic Republic” was heard. After the students returned to their dormitories, the 200 members of Ansar-e-Hezbollah and Basiji students attacked approximately 600 students with tear gas and electric batons.

The students chanted: “Down with Dictator,” “Damned Ahmadi, you are a disgrace to Elm-o-Sanat [University],” and “Down with the Basij mercenaries.”

Four of the Basijis were identified as Nima Ebrahimi (third year student), Seyed Mehdi Mahdian (third year student), Reza Mousapour, and Seyed Sajjad Khansari.

It was reported that at least three students were thrown out of dormitory windows. 20 students were taken to an unknown location, while several other students had their identification cards confiscated.

The university was in a virtual lock-down by Ansar-e-Hezbollah, and cell phone communication was purportedly blocked.

Ayatollah Dastgheib says the Supreme Leader has to stay within the law

Ayatollah Dastgheib, senior religious figure and a member of the Assembly of Experts, for the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution while criticising the current situation of the country said, the Armed force should not interfere in political affairs, but it seems like today all the affairs of the country is in the hands of Revolutionary Guards and police and people have no say or will and this is the basis of the diversion from the principles of the revolution.

People want to have security, instead of some attacking their homes anytime and do whatever they want; people don’t want their dignity be endangered not that any group can damage their dignity.

The goal of Islamic Republic was so that the vote be the vote of the people; it means a democratic system based on people’s will, same as it is in other countries.

It is not possible that only one person run the country. There have to be laws and the Supreme Leader is also in the law. There have to be a law because one person cannot rule 70 million people.

The armed forces, police, Revolutionary Guards and military should consider people’s benefit not their own benefit; it means that they should guard people’s lives, belongings and dignity and if a foreign country would attack they should prevent their attacks; not to sacrifice all these for their own benefit. The police should support the religious figures and scholars; and not that they do something to isolate them and leave no dignity for anyone except those who obey them.

People on the very anniversary of the Islamic Republic demand the exact execution of the constitution; and ignoring this demand causes the diversion from the Islamic Revolution of 1978.

The state-run TV and Radio should be fair and just and reflect the truth.

The Guardian Council should guard the constitution which is based on the teachings of the Prophet Mohammad.

The judiciary system should be independent and based on God’s laws.

Karroubi’s latest statement for 22 Bahman

February 6, 2010

Mehdi Karroubi, in his latest statement pledges to the people that he will not relent in fighting for the rights of the Iranian people.  He called on all Iranians to come out and peacefully protest on 22 Bahman (anniversary of the Islamic revolution).  Karroubi also said the election was accompanied by an engineering of the people’s votes and that the twin pillars of the republican and Islamic character of the system have come under severe question.

In one part of his statement it appears that he may be targeting the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, although he could mean Ahmadinejad, depending on translation and/or interpretation.   He quotes the martyr Ayatollah Modarres  who said “There is one case such as our times, when that ruler is from the people.  In this case, his duty is to execute the instructions which the people give him, and any instruction, from improving the land to safeguarding the people of this nation … The constitution is an instruction which the nation gives to that individual, and if that ruler does not act in accordance with it, he is an oppressor and a transgressor and must be deposed.”

He then offers five points for a principled solution,

• We must pour dust into the mouths of the sycophantic praise singers and the hand and tongue and pen of the worthless violent people must be reformed and controlled and the marketplace of religion-selling and monopolism must be rejected.
• All the articles of the Constitution must be executed fully and the right of the electors and the elected must be taken from the Assembly of Experts of the Leadership so that the Islamic Consultative Assembly and the President obey them. The appalling innovation of the Guardian Council, which puts all Iranians, including prominent and well-known figures, to the blade of ratification must be abolished. The criterion must be nothing other than the nation’s vote and not cherry-picking or engineering the people’s votes on the basis of the tastes of a few elite. I am certain that the noble people of Iran, thanks to the religious atmosphere, will surely set upright, sound, committed, and expert people at the head of affairs.
• The unconditional release of political prisoners.
• An open environment for the press and the recognition of criticism and critics and the restoration of tranquility to the universities.
• The police atmosphere and the environment of terror and fear should be eliminated. This is not an atmosphere conducive to unity and cooperation.
